Le Pédalo is a cooperative, participatory and non-profit supermarket with a social purpose.
Created by citizens for citizens, in their local area, in Etterbeek, to consume in a different way (selection of products by the cooperators, low margins thanks to the monthly work of the cooperators - shift - thus allowing to offer an attractive selling price to the cooperative community).
It is inspired by the BEEScoop, the very first collaborative supermarket created in Brussels and located in Schaerbeek. This model has already proved its worth in the United States and more particularly in Brooklyn, New York with the Park Slop Food Coop founded in 1973.
