EVERE, THE DISCREET ONE
Evere is a mixed community where life is good. This municipality is one of the most discreet in the Brussels region. Its rural past still leaves many traces: vegetable gardens still cultivated, green spaces, farms and mills... Evere is also home to several cemeteries (those of Schaerbeek, Brussels City and Evere) which are places of meditation, silence and greenery.
Evere is located close to the NATO infrastructure (Haren). Several tram lines in Lower Evere, bus lines throughout the municipality, two railway stations; the municipality offers easy access to the Ring, the ring road that surrounds the capital.
The Brussels Mill and Food Museum is housed in a 19th century mill. Two cultural centres enliven the town. The Place Paduwa, the Chaussée de Louvain, and the Avenue H. Conscience have many shops. Large-scale retail outlets are well represented in the town. From the Saint-Vincent church, a walk in the Bon Pasteur park leads to the Moeraske ("Little Marsh"), a small corner of nature laid out on a narrow strip of two kilometres where flora and fauna thrive.
Property prices in Evere are in the high average range, both for houses and flats. The rents of the flats are at the threshold of those of the most expensive municipalities.
