Aparte de la avenida Charles Quint, es bastante tranquilo, formado en gran parte por avenidas abiertas con \u00e1rboles, con el castillo De Rivieren en su centro, un joyero verde, actualmente sede de eventos privados.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>La etimolog\u00eda del nombre del municipio hace referencia a los gansos (\"gans\" en neerland\u00e9s) y al pantano (\"hore\") o cuerno de caza (\"hoorn\").  Se menciona por primera vez en el siglo XII.  Durante mucho tiempo estuvo vinculado a Jette, pero en 1841 el municipio se separ\u00f3 de \u00e9l.  El desarrollo del municipio tuvo lugar primero al sureste, alrededor de la bas\u00edlica, durante el reinado de Leopoldo II, a finales del siglo XIX.  La urbanizaci\u00f3n del municipio no comenz\u00f3 realmente hasta el siglo XX.  Inicialmente vinculado al Brabante flamenco, se uni\u00f3 a la regi\u00f3n biling\u00fce de Bruselas en 1954.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
